National Student Leader Council (NSLC)

The National Student Leader Council (NSLC) members will work alongside the Area Student Leader Council (ASLC) in their local areas to mentor current and upcoming Student Leaders and to build connections between adult leadership and student leadership. Additionally, the NSLC support the Student Leader community globally by helping to host international events and functions.



Eligibility and requirements

  • Guild Inductee 16-years-old or older 
  • OCC Certification (taken in two parts: Online Basics and Online Intermediate)
  • Peacemaking Intro Part 1 and Part 2 (those who served on PREP in 2015, 2016 may have already completed this work. View "Professional Development" on your member profile to validate)
  • Chapter Mentor, or serving as Student Leader having met eligibility for Chapter Mentor within the past year.
  • Preference is given to those applicants who have attended an international event in the past 12 months. (2018 applicants will be required to have attended an international event in the past 12 months.)
  • Available to commit to two international events (IGNITE Winter Advance, PREP/Media PREP, or iCON) (registration discount is given to NSLC at the two international events), as well as one training event such as the fall conference, one ICCFS Tournament, area training, and regularly attend SL conference calls.
  • RSA or PREP Team within the past 12 months
  • Available to commit to all SL calls during their term.
  • Applicant will need to have participated in a minimum of 8 SL calls (YSG connection calls and/or quarterly international calls).

 Request a recommendation, via email, from your Chapter Sponsor, Area Leader, and Area  Coordinator. As a courtesy, please include this link for your required recommendation.




  • Talk to your Chapter Sponsor about your interest in NSLC.

  • Fill out the NSLC and ASLC application form. You will be invited to the Classroom once you complete the form.

      Deadline for applications AND classroom assignments is April 30

      This deadline includes application form and ALL classroom assignments; fill out the form now  

      so you can get started early.
